Winning Through Mental Toughness—

The Key to Success in Sports and in Life

About THE AUTHOR

David Carr has been studying psychology for most of his life. Actively involved in athletics growing up, then as a teacher/coach–he drilled deeply into sports psychology expanding his fascination with peak performance–especially when executed on a consistent basis. This book is about winning–an extended “case study” of what he considers to be the crown jewel of “winning,” the key element necessary, the most important intangible of all the intangibles: MENTAL TOUGHNESS!

After a brief but successful coaching career at the high school level, David left the school system and entered private business. Determined to win, he studied multitudes of books and researched the lives of highly successful athletes, coaches and leaders from all walks of life. This book contains the highlights of much of that material. It is an extremely rich resource and compilation of what could define the true essence of winning and the psychology behind it. Full of real life illustrations, actual stories and quotations from many of the most successful human beings that ever walked the planet, David Carr created a manual for developing and maintaining a winning mindset.

David heads up an asset management firm he founded, Carr Capital, LLC, in Longview, Texas. He is an Investment Advisor Representative, specializing in retirement income planning. He and his wife, Kelly, an elementary school teacher, raised four sons in the piney woods of East Texas: Chris, Colby, Caleb & Cass. At the top of the list of accomplishments for David has been the opportunity he has had to coach his four sons and their teammates over the years, in all their various sports. Few things in life bring as much joy and satisfaction as seeing people you love and people you’ve invested in, winning and reaching their goals in life.

It is David’s desire that this book and its principals will do for you and yours, what it has for him, his family and the many people they’ve been able to do “life’ with over these many years. For more information and ongoing interactions, be sure to check out his website: www.davidcarr.win.
